Stars of '70, an invitation from Bob Wilson

Stars of '70, an invitation from Bob Wilson

17 years without a trophy was far too long for a Club such as Arsenal. The Fairs Cup victory in 1970 revived our great Club and inspired it to even greater triumphs.

Join the winning team to hear their memories of the day and to celebrate the greatest cup game ever seen at Highbury hosted by me and in aid of my charity, the Willow Foundation.

Please find further information below, plus a ticket application form attached.

I look forward to meeting you. Many thanks for your support.

Best Regards

The Willow Foundation invites you to the Stars of '70 Arsenal Heroes Dinner at the Hilton London Metropole on Thursday 18 February 2010 ...

Remembering the Fairs Cup Final …

After years without trophy success, the glory days returned to Highbury in dramatic style for Bertie Mee's side with a thrilling victory in the 1970 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup Final.

Relive the memories of the Fairs Cup Final with the club legends who overcame a first leg two-goal deficit, with a 3 - 0 home win over Anderlecht, to secure Arsenal's first European Trophy in club history.
Goals from Eddie Kelly, John Radford and Jon Sammels secured victory and sparked a pitch invasion for the fans who had waited 17 years for European success.
Join Gunners' legends including skipper Frank McLintock, Charlie George, George Graham, Peter Marinello, Sammy Nelson, John Radford, John Roberts and Bob Wilson at this reunion of the 'Stars of '70', organised by national charity, the Willow Foundation.
The evening will include a three-course meal with starter wine and a 'Question & Answer' session with the 'Stars of '70'.
£75 per person
£750 per table of ten

All proceeds will go to the Willow Foundation (registered charity no. 1106746).

The Willow Foundation is the only charity of its kind in the UK providing special days for seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds. Bob Wilson, and his wife, Megs, founded the charity in 1999, in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.

To date the charity has organised and funded morale-boosting special days for more than 5,000 seriously ill young adults. Your support will help Willow to provide many more special days for young adults living with the difficult realities of life-threatening conditions.
