Information about AISA

Founded in October 2000 AISA quickly established its reputation through effective campaigning in support of the Club’s application for planning permission for the new stadium.
Work continued over the ensuing five years, up to and including the summer of 2006, when AISA organised lobbies of Council meetings, at which proposals were being seriously debated which would have meant the abandonment of the Bergkamp testimonial match.

AISA is now the largest Arsenal supporters organisation and communicates regularly with over 8,000 Arsenal fans.

AISA regards itself as a vehicle that all Arsenal fans can use constructively to ensure that supporters comments and opinions are understood and considered by the Club, its contractors and other agencies. We work jointly towards the aim of the matchday experience at the Emirates being better for fans than at any other stadium in the world.

AISA continues to raise many issues with the Club on behalf of supporters, often with positive results. For example in the first season at the new stadium  we  pressed the Club to speed up the ‘Arsenalification’ of the Emirates Stadium, to bring the identity and history of the Club to the stadium.
AISA started in Islington, and of course our base will always be in north London, but our members are spread throughout the UK and abroad. Our infrastructure is growing to meet the needs of those fans. We provide a range of services, including:
· email with news and information
· our newsletter - The Arsenal Supporter
· meetings and social events

AISA helped set up the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST), now one of our key partners and a thriving, highly-regarded organisation representing small shareholders. Equally we work in co-operation with various supporters clubs as well as the three Arsenal fanzines.
AISA campaigns on issues that we feel potentially exclude and alienate supporters. Both with the Club and the Kick It Out organisation we have taken initiatives against racism, and we work closely on atmosphere issues with REDaction. We regularly raise individual issues on behalf of fans as well as broader concerns, such as ticket pricing and allocation.
AISA deeply values the Club’s history and traditions, whilst at the same time recognising the need for the Club to modernise and establish itself as one of the leading clubs in Europe and the world.

Since our formation AISA has organised five Gala Dinners, and has raised over £70,000 for charities including the David Rocastle Trust, the Treehouse Trust, the Willow Foundation, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital and Centrepoint.
Membership of AISA is open to every Arsenal supporter; the strength of our organisation is that we represent and articulate the views of all Arsenal fans; of all ages, from every part of the UK and beyond; new supporters and those that have supported the Club throughout their life.

AISA is a voluntary and democratic body; our officers and committee are elected at our AGM, and AISA meetings and activities are open to all members.
