Announcement from on the impact of VAT reverting from 15% to 17.5%

Following the increase in VAT from 15% to 17.5%, announced in the Pre Budget Report, Arsenal Football Club has confirmed that its prices will, in a number of areas, be adjusted to reflect the increased rate of VAT.

The VAT change, which equates to a price increase of 2.17%, will be applied from, or as soon after Friday 1st January 2010 as possible. The impact of the change is that prices return to the level applicable in November 2008, prior to the government’s temporary reduction in the rate of VAT.

Arsenal Match Tickets

All Arsenal match ticket prices will be changed to reflect the new VAT rate as of Friday 1st January 2010. Please note that some rounding of ticket prices will occur.

Any tickets purchased prior to this date are subject to the VAT rate at the time of purchase.

To illustrate the price changes from Friday 1st January, the new prices of selected Tier B are as follows:

Centre Upper reverts from £64.50 to £66
Wing Upper reverts from £43 to £44
Centre Lower reverts from £35 to £36
Goal Lower reverts from £32.50 to £33

Full details of all new ticket prices can be found at:

Season ticket holders should note that renewal of their tickets for season 2010/11 will be at the new 17.5% rate of VAT.

Arsenal Merchandise

Prices for merchandise will remain unaffected.

Arsenal Membership

Prices of Red Level membership and Junior Gunner membership will remain at current price however, Members should note that renewal of their tickets for season 2010/11 will be at the new 17.5% rate of VAT.

Food and Drink at Emirates Stadium

Arsenal's catering partner, Delaware North, sets the prices of food and drink at Emirates Stadium at the start of each season. These prices are, in part, designed to ensure operational efficiency and speed of service for the food and drink available to supporters on matchdays.

We are delighted to confirm that prices of food and drink for Upper & Lower Tiers at Emirates Stadium will not be changed for the remainder of the 2009/10 season.

On Club Level only the menu prices in our a la carte, Buffet & Chefs Carvery will increase in line with the VAT increase – otherwise all other prices for food & drink will remain the same.
